Spring fever

We basically have only two seasons in the Philippines…dry and wet. So imagine the changes we had to go through when we first arrived in Sydney, when it was the last month of winter.

And now, spring has come, but we are a bit confused. The weather is still cold… colder than what we are used to. The only hint to the change in weather is that flowers are beginning to bloom, and trees are regaining their leaves. A whole range of different flowers just blossom in every corner, most of which we were not even aware existed. The photo above was taken just in the front lawn of a friend, who says that particular flower was just an ordinary one.

Although I said we still feel cold, from time to time we do find ourselves wearing the same shorts that barely did us any good from the heat back in the Philippines. We were forewarned by friends that come summer, we will be facing another difficult chapter in adjusting to Australian life. How I wish they will be mistaken, at least just for this year.
