MacBook (Black)

Despite the number of people complaining about various things on Apple’s new MacBook, Most people (including moi) still think it is one of the best notebooks and affordable too. My wife and I are both dreaming to own one of these soon.

Sony on the other hand, is known for its television, audio and console products. Being from the Philippines, I must say that it is one of the most trusted products out there… probably because we are yet to be exposed to a broader range of manufacturers, as most countries are. Nonetheless, we are content with Sony.

So imagine my surprise and disgust when I came across this Digg article about Sony ripping of the new MacBook design. Of course I know that I shouldn’t just react without actually seeing (or in this case, reading) the article myself, and comparing the two products.

Sony Vaio

WTF were the people over at Sony thinking? They try hard to put trademarks and copyrights to their own products… don’t they think everyone else (especially Apple) does the same thing?

I literally double-checked the images to see if it wasn’t another new rumoured Apple product, and it is true… the Sony Vaio N10 series looks exactly like Apple’s MacBook!

Even if Sony uses the same people from China as Apple does for their hardware manufacturing… it shouldn’t really matter. The fact of the matter is, these new Vaios are a total ripoff. If you can’t figure out a new design on your own, then give yourselves a favor and get a new designer!

Oh yeah, just to be on the fair side, don’t take anyone else’s word for it. Take a look for yourself by reading this article (with photos). Then, check out Sony’s European website.
