Revisiting Metallica

I first encountered Metallica‘s music way back in 2nd year high school. When my classmates found out what I was listening to on my Walkman (even then I was keen on portable music), they would be surprised, saying I didn’t look the type. The same went with when I was still working for a call center back home in Ortigas. A colleague was surprised to learn I liked this type of music.

Since then, my appetite for rock music grew, being introduced to Megadeth, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and many more. And although I still continue to patronize the music of bands I learned to love, none was as persistent to how I dug Metallica.

On tv just the other day, I saw an ad that Metallica just launched a new dvd, which included all their videos from 1989 to 2004. I was curious and excited at the same time… since they haven’t released any new material since St. Anger.

Not having the time to go shopping because of work, I have yet to purchase this dvd, but I am planning to do so the first chance I get… hopefully by this Saturday. Until then, I guess I will have to be content on listening to my Metallica collection on the long commute to work.
