After more than 3 weeks of calling their “great” support center, I was informed that the company won’t be able to help me in regards to my broadband. Tsk.. it would have been ok with me if it weren’t for them telling me that everything has been moved (2 days before we left our old place) to begin with. I wonder where the hell they get their customer relations guidelines from.
The good thing about it is that they are “willing” to waive the contract termination fee since they were not able to provide any other service to replace what I had with them. I wouldn’t have paid anyway because I did ask them if it was available before we actually had to do anything else.
For a company that is supposed to be spearheading the availability of broadband over the whole of Australia, they are not doing a good job. Hell, even the Philippines’ PLDT works faster and are actually friendlier… pinoys just have more EQ.
When we got to our new place, we were surprised to see a wired phone in the kitchen. Naturally, I called Telstra and asked about it. They told me we could use the phone and it wouldn’t matter to them… we won’t be charged a cent… duh! Our next bill came with a really nasty surprise at the end… a$3.00 per month for renting the phone. $3 isn’t really much if you think about it, but the fact that I asked and was led to believe otherwise is just unspeakable.
I have inquired faster and better services from what I hope would be the ISP I would stick with for as long as I want. Besides, after what happened, the last thing I would do is give my hard earned money to crappy businesses like these.
So, do yourself a favor… if you’re thinking about getting anything from these 2 companies, think again. Avoid Telstra and Bigpond. They will find a way to screw you over.
