Three cheers for public wi-fi

After going through hell and back with my broadband connection from BigPond, I decided to try scanning for available hotspots in our area. To my surprise, there is at least one free public hotspot. And although its just a little bit faster than dialup, the thought of having access to the internet without wires and the lowest possible signal is still real good news.

Just an update from my previous post, upon cancelling my broadband account, I was greeted with a very kind and courteous representative… and she turned out to be a Filipina! Tsk.. figures, if you’re looking for the best service, it would probably be best to expect it from one of your countrymen. Thanks again Anna!

I am trying to sign up with a different provider, this time opting for a faster ADSL2+ connection. I have checked on the status of my order, and I will have word from the company about it within the next few days. Without the public wi-fi I am using now, everything would have been bad news for me since we decided to move. I just hope this new company would bring me back to the modern world.

So for everyone waiting for our latest photos or wanting to talk to us via skype, I guess you’ll just have to wait a little bit more. The connection I am using right now isn’t really suitable for those kinds of activities.
