Disconnected, and losing hope

I just got a rejection letter for my application for broadband from a second ISP. Although there are still a few more to go, I got a feeling that I might have to go through the process of waiting for the time telcos here in Australia get things together and finally do something about the black holes for broadband. I am getting sick of it already. We may not be rich in the Philippines, but most of our technology infrastructure is top-notch, not to mention customer service. I could just imagine, if we were back home, we definitely would not have to deal with this type of problem…

A web developer without a decent internet connection… yep, that’s me. And while I am really struggling on getting things that I have to do, I find myself no longer enthusiastic about blogging, podcasts and the like, for all of these depend heavily upon me having broadband.

We can’t even use VOIP to call our parents or send them our videos. Hell, we can’t even send photos of little Timothy back home! Talk about pathetic!!!

I wonder, if I were to turn back time, would I still decide to move to this “black hole” area where we are unfortunately in now? Or is this a step towards the less-connected life that I should actually be living?
