Chris Benoit, 1967-2007

Ever since leaving the Philippines, I never got the chance to watch any of the WWE shows. They do not air it on free tv (at least I think not), and cable is not available in our area thanks to the wonderful folks at Telstra. So please forgive me if this post is a couple of days late.

Although I do get to go online everyday for client work, I rarely have the time (or bandwidth) to really surf the web leisurely. So imagine my surprise when I heard over the radio on The Spoonman‘s show at Triple M that one of WWE’s superstars, Chris Benoit is not only deceased, but is actually suspected of killing his wife and son before killing himself on June 25th. I searched around the web and the official statement of WWE confirms what I heard.

I thought at first that Benoit was one of the many superstars that passed away due to a sudden illness, but this is really sad news. My guess is as good as anyone’s, and since there hasn’t been any other update as of the moment, I will leave it at that.

My condolences to the family of the Benoits.
