Part of the reason why I think despite the introduction of the 40GB Playstation 3, there is still a lack of people buying the console is of course, aside from the price which is still pretty steep, is the lack of really good games. I am not talking about your regular driving games, but games that have, throughout the years amassed a huge fan base… or what others call cult classics.
In my own experience, friends and some family members are asking why I still haven’t got an Xbox 360 for myself when the price have dropped significantly. Hell, if the price is all I am concerned about, then might as well get both the 360 and the Nintendo Wii right? No.

For the 360, there are some games that have caught my attention… Gears of War, Lost Planet, Need for Speed ProStreet, and the most recent release by Bioware, Mass Effect. But these games are all new to me. Regardless of how they look or feel, I have no loyalty for them. With the Wii, its much worse, I am only thinking of how fun it is playing, but for a long time gamer like myself, the novelty will surely fade quickly.
So it was a really good surprise reading about the continuous development by Square-Enix of its Final Fantasy franchise for the PS3, specifically Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII.

Console RPGs are great but I have been known to get into some other games like Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Tekken, Resident Evil and the like… which more or less are well into the development or testing stages of their new games for the PS3. And when these games come out, I will certainly forget about PC gaming and return to the console world.
