A little help

Apart from basically not getting any support from the Australian government, our visa also prohibits us from applying and obtaining any form of credit, be it personal or your ordinary run-of-the-mill credit card. Before anyone flames me, yes, they did say we can have free schooling for little Timothy, but since he isn’t of age yet, then it doesn’t matter does it?
Today however, it seems that fate is smiling on us. I received a phone call from an ANZ representative saying that our application for a Visa debit card has been approved. A debit card is anything that a credit card is, except for the credit, since you should have the money in there to spend to begin with. We will now be able to do online purchases (especially airline tickets). It’s actually pretty good as well since there’s no way of overspending.
In fairness, I do understand why we’re not eligible for credit cards yet… but taking into consideration how long we’ve been here, and why we’re here in the first place, we should at least be considered or given a chance to obtain one, as long as we have the documents they require.
