Timothy grows

Looking at the date since I last posted on the blog made me realize how lazy I have become, at least in terms of blogging. I tried several times to do one daily, but just like most people joining a gym (myself included, long time ago), we just tend to forget, or not bother after some time… sad.
But the good thing coming from this is that there are quite a few updates that I would like to share with everyone. And to save everyone else the time, let’s start with our little Padawan Timothy.
Physically, he has grown over half my length, and turning three this coming March, he’s turning out to be a pretty big boy, and really heavy too. At first we thought we were doing something wrong when we noticed that he isn’t as fat as before. But as most people point out, a lot of it has to do with his height.
Tim has also become really active. It started out back in Sydney where he was introduced to the world of cricket. And with the recently concluded Melbourne Open, he has also grown fond of tennis. So fond in fact that we decided to get something so that we can all enjoy a little tennis in the backyard.

Food is also a big thing. Aside from the wonderful fare coming from Kitchie’s kitchen, Tim has developed a liking to the hotdogs, donuts and milkshakes from Wendy’s. We usually have something else for him, but when he sees me with any of these, it would be as if it was his to begin with. In the photo above, he actually finished both the hotdog and donut… and half of the large shake.
In terms of his language skills, everyday we are surprised with the things he has learned, mostly from kid shows on television and his favorite dvds like Cars, Toy Story and Finding Nemo. He has become really good at it, that Kitchie and I actually enjoy our little chats with him, hoping that he says something we haven’t heard before… and little Timothy rarely disappoints.

We are so happy to report that Tim’s toilet training, although is still undergoing, is turning out to be a huge success. Since starting him on this new regime, we have been to malls and other places over a dozen times without him having to wear a nappy. Each and every time he needs to go to the toilet, he lets us know. And each time he does, brings a huge smile to our faces. Even going on #2 has been successful. As far as I know, he has yet to go anywhere other than on his little toilet.
Our little Padawan has learned to dress himself too… shirt, shorts and all. He still manages to put on his sandals the wrong way (left to right), but the mere fact that he does so without us asking him is a really big development too.
We still have a number of things we want to train Timothy on, and the two most important is being able to be on his own, in preparation to when the time comes for Kitchie to start work. The second is having him sleep on his own bed and hopefully in his own room in the near future.
