After taking Inang to the Adelaide Cathedral, we went to Rundle Mall for a little bit of window shopping. Timothy and I headed to Next Byte to check out the Macbook Air live in action. It was my lucky day, for there was no one else in sight.

Aside from the more obvious dimensions of the new Apple ultraportable, I got a sample of the new touchpad. The pinch that was initially available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, gave me a surprise when the desktop icons increased and decreased in size.

It really is lightweight. I was able to lift it by just using my forefingers, and there was no effort at all. Looking at it at all angles made me see what everyone else was griping about… the lack of features (superdrive, firewire etc.) The price ranging from A$ 2,499.00 to A$ 4,388.00, it will definitely make your wallet light as air. The machine however is a technological wonder, its just not for everyone.

With the last Tuesday of February just around the corner, I wonder if Apple is really going to update their Macbook Pro lineup. Everyone who’s in the market for an Apple portable computer is definitely keeping an eye out.
