MacBook Pro with Multi-Touch
I was kinda hoping that they would redo the MacBook Pro design a little bit, since they unleashed the MacBook Air to the world, you would like to think the prosumer would get a little something in the design perspective too.
- Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn Processors of up to 2.6GHz.
- Up to 4GB of memory.
- There is also a bit of a bump on storage, which is now from 200GB standard.
- The video has been doubled, now starting from 256MB to 512MB.
- LED backlit displays on 15″ and optional for the 17″.
One of the most awaited feature to grace the MBP, the Multi-Touch is now here. I had the chance to play a little bit of the Multi-Touch on the MacBook Air, and its nice to know the Pros now have it too. Let’s just hope that there will be more to it this feature than just showing photos off.
The Australia Apple store is still currently displaying the yellow sticky note, so I have yet to find out how much the new MBPs cost here, but in the U.S, the base model starts from $1,999.00.

Faster MacBooks
It has been a while since I heard about updates for the MacBook. Unfortunately, the first two models still retain their stain-attracting finish, which is why there are a lot of my friends who still opt for Windows-based laptops. The MacBook Pros are way too expensive for most.
- Processor speed from 2.1GHz to 2.4GHZ.
- 2GB of memory standard.
- Up to 250GB of storage.
As most people point out, the high-end black MacBook and the entry-level MacBook Pro have basically the same specs, sans stand-alone graphics and now, Multi-Touch. The price of the base level MacBook starts at $1,099.00.
My question is, where on earth is the iPhone SDK?
Update
Apple Store (Australia) is back online with the updated hardware. The price of the base unit MacBook Pro is A$200 cheaper, now at A$2,699.00, and the base MacBook starts at A$1,499.00.
For anyone wanting to get an extra remote, it’ll cost you A$29 extra.
