During my high school years, I used to go to our local comics store with some friends and get a copy of the latest X-Men and Uncanny X-Men comics. In the Philippines those things cost a lot even during those days, so I made sure I set aside some of my lunch money just for them.

Fascination turned to inspiration when it came to these comic books. After a while, I turned to drawing copies of my favorite characters and then eventually to doing my own stuff for school projects and for myself. Unfortunately, my love for sketching and drawing left me after a few years, and I turned towards layout and design when I first got my copy of Aldus Pagemaker.

Fast forward a few more years and I geared towards Web development and graphic design. And for someone who is lazy in studying, I chose a field where if you rest on your laurels, you might as well be dead.

I still do Web projects and the graphical content that comes with the job, but my inspirations have widened. I have my loving family by my side, there’s your traditional resources, nature, architecture and of course let us not forget music and movies… wherever you can get it right?

I can probably say that it has come full-circle now, since I have once more delved into the land of the comic books (or graphic novels), and hopefully this added resource will help me in my future endeavors.

The photo above was taken about 2 weeks ago, and I call it “Spiderman needs a car”.
