Ever since being exposed to Podcasts Netcasts a couple of years ago, I have been getting into it more and more. Throughout the years, I have grown to love a select few. I have even started to watch some really informative Video Netcasts (or whatever you wanna call’em) as well.
And for all those who have been listening to the TWiT Netcasts, you’d know about how much the guys (and gals) love listening to audiobooks… you would hear them do the most creative segways to promote audiobooks that can make the advertising people jealous.
Well just yesterday, I took the plunge and tried out Audible. And what a good time to do so, for they currently have (up to this writing) a promotion where for a whole day, selected audiobooks are available for download free, without the need for a credit card. Now tell me, what sounds better than free right? Well, nothing maybe, but being able to keep the free audiobook you downloaded regardless if you actually join or not does sound really good too.
So as you’re reading this and haven’t heard of audiobooks or Audible, why not give it a try? There’s only a few hours left so why not take advantage?
You won’t be restricted to paid audiobooks either. If you just happen to miss this wonderful event, you can still delve into this world by trying out LibriVox which provides free audiobooks from the public domain. For the faint at heart, there’s also an audio story by Neil Gaiman available as a free download, just to get a taste of how things go.
