As we were watching records being continuously broken by Aussie swimmers, we realized that we only had five minutes left before the voluntary lights out for Earth Hour ’08. Tim was still sleeping then, and we didn’t know if he would actually wake up to participate in his own way for this global event.

Previously, we didn’t have a clue as to what we would do within the hour of not having any lights and electronic equipment (except the fridge) running. Telling stories, looking at the stars and sleeping… it was none of the above. We spent most of the time just taking photographs and looking outside to see who else is participating. Unfortunately though, our next door neighbor was not. In fact, he had most of his lights on… bummer.

But anyway, my family and I are glad to be able to do our own little thing to help the environment. Kitchie and I already agreed that we shall be doing so again next year. Hopefully more and more people will realize how small things can lead to greater outcomes.

I am currently having issues with the Fotobook plugin for this blog, so I disabled it for now. Our Earth Hour ’08 photos however are still up on my facebook acount so you can go ahead and view them there.
