I have delved back into the realm of gaming as a way to relieve the stress that I have accumulated… its also one way of releasing one’s frustration without the fear of repercussions.

The latest title in my gaming library is the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm. I have been introduced to this game by a friend and I instantly got hooked. I myself have shown others the many wonders of the game, and they too have been reeled in. I remember the times when we spend hour on end just trying to get the better of one another in this really engaging real-time strategy game.

Apart from the two new factions (Sisters of Battle and the Dark Eldar), and the introduction of air units, there is really nothing new to this game that anyone other than hardcore gamers would love… well, except maybe that you don’t need the original game to enjoy this hybrid expansion.

Gameplay is as always solid… using a formula that has been tried and tested. But the lack of innovations has made me feel that this final expansion from the game’s developer Iron Lore Studios is somewhat of a flicker of what was once a raging fire of a title. Nonetheless, my friends and I regularly enjoy blasting the guts out of each other’s armies in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

We can’t wait for the sequel.
