Its a well known fact between family and friends that I am a huge fan of the Final Fantasy. My introduction to the series came from Nicko, with Final Fantasy VII, which turned out to be the best-selling of the whole lot. What gets you into the game is, aside from the great storyline and gameplay, the characters themselves.

I moved on to the next versions, Final Fantasy VIII, IX, X and even X2. But our plans for the family and migration here to Australia has shifted my attention from getting my hands on the next couple of games after X2.

I was looking for inspirations on design and development, and somehow found a bit through music and some television series… something to keep my creative juices flowing. And giving Rundle Mall a visit recently opened up something new.

shinTokyo is a store that deals with anime, manga and games, including a whole plethora of merchandise from various titles. I have been visiting this store often (at least each time we’re in the CBD), looking at their wares and drooling at the same time. And this is where I first delved into the realm of collectibles.

Sephiroth is the antagonist of the Final Fantasy VII game for the original Playstation. Calm and collected, he at one point wanted him to be the main character I could play in the game… bad ass but totally cool. his appearance in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children just reinforced my fascination with him. But I must admit, Cloud and Fenrir is equally as cool.
