Story-telling Timothy

I remember Timothy’s arrival in Bulacan coming from the hospital. After a bit of preparation and ogling over our new baby, we decided to read our newborn Padawan a story. Of course he couldn’t understand a word then, but even so, as this photo somewhat shows, he was probably a bit curious as to what his dad was doing.

Now, Kitchie has been regularly reading books to Timothy before he goes to sleep. Think of it as a ritual to calm his senses, and to keep his mind away from his toys and from wanting to stay up some more.

With Kitchie’s stories comes Timothy’s willingness to learn and participate. We try to keep it as interactive as possible, from making him repeat certain details to actually asking him to read some pages that has already been read to him.

Today was another landmark for the little Padawan, as his story-telling session was entirely led by him… with Kitchie and I just listening to how he understands the story. We were surprised when he came across a page and said: “This is stegosaurus”, while pointing to an illustration of the dinosaur. The boy sure is learning quick.
