Disappointed

No WiFi

I spent a decent amount of money in improving my equipment and working environment for when I do client work. I also spend hours on end on these websites to ensure that everything is in working order, and that the user experience for each site is, as much as possible, very pleasant or at least close to it.

So imagine my disappointment when Sunday afternoon, after coming from Tea Tree Plaza, we were greeted by the “wonderful” Virgin Broadband experience of not having our wireless internet. It lasted the whole of Sunday and basically Monday before I went to work. So what happened with my client stuff? Well, good thing the very kind Mañegos (as always) lent their helping hand (and Internet connection), in order for me to complete the Good News Pilipinas update.

We had to resort to paying our bills the old fashioned way as well, having to pass by the bank and Post just to pay, wherein we could have done so in the leisure of our home had Virgin Broadband done a good job in ensuring that their wireless services were reliable (or in the case of what recently happened, at least existent in some way). All that while I only had 4 hours of sleep. I had to stay up until 6 in the morning to see if the signal has gone back, and of course, it didn’t… then I had to to to work!

Before I actually had to leave for work, everything went back to normal. The good it did for me. I already managed to bother our friends, AND my family on top of the hassle of everything else. Nice job Virgin.

The Virgin experience for me is really getting sour. It has reached the point that next year, we are planning to move house… somewhere that has a wide array of broadband services available. I cannot go about working on the Internet and not have proper and reliable service.

To the people at Virgin Broadband, your services were actually good at the beginning, but not anymore. And for the other praises on this post, there’s only one word… SARCASM!
