Rain

Coming from the record-breaking heat wave, the coming of rain is certainly welcome especially to South Australian farmers. The temperature has gone down quite a bit as well, now averaging in the low 20′s, winter is definitely in sight.

I got a feel of the cold rain when I was at work today, and man… I didn’t like it at all. And a sudden gale didn’t make the experience any better. Now I know what our friends were talking about when they said to avoid winter rain… and it isn’t winter yet!

You might ask, why is it that I only got a taste of the cold rain now, whereas we have been here in South Australia for almost 2 years now. Well, I took the advice of our friends and avoided the rain as much as I could. Although I wasn’t able to totally keep away from it before, today was different. I didn’t get soaked or anything, its the normal kind of rain we get here, fine and steady for a couple of minutes. But that was enough for the cold to get to me.

I am now in the comfort of my home office, and as I am typing, I can hear the rain outside. Rain is always welcome, even during cold weather… as long as I am indoors.
