Let’s get ready to rumble!

It is most probable that part of the reason why Sony’s Playstation 3 isn’t really selling well despite the Blu Ray winning over HD DVD in the recent format wars, is the lack of really good games… which will end really soon with the imminent release of Metal Gear Solid 4 and the coming Final Fantasy series. That and the missing rumble in the controllers that Playstation gamers (including myself), have come to know and love for certain types of games.

In its place, Sony introduced the Sixaxxis controller, which was pretty innovative, but nonetheless useless. Then came news about Sony introducing Dualshock 3 in Japan. Back then, it was sold only in white, and Japan (as always) became the envy of the gaming community once more.

Having the new bundle is a pretty good deal considering that currently, you only get one controller with the console. I myself was thinking that aside from the titles I have been longing for becoming available, having Dualshock 3 bundled with the PS3 would totally rock my world.

Lo and behold… Sony has now included the Dualshock 3 AND an additional Sixaxxis contoller in their upcoming MGS4 bundle. And what with the Sixaxxis controllers? Apparently, once all these are either sold or given away with the bundles, it will finally laid to rest. I guess there aren’t really that much support for the Sixaxxis on the games for the PS3.

The long awaited Dualshock 3 controller has been available for pre-order since last week, and I think are actually available in stores this week… I haven’t really been out to check lately.

One thing’s for sure, we will certainly hear a different tune once the gaming experience for the PS3 has come full circle with the rumble finally returning to its roots.
