Geek

I spent most of the time I have left geeking out by doing some modifications with a couple of sites I handle, as well as trying out some new applications.

VMWare Fusion
One of my pet peeves as a developer is the inability of browsers to support standards. One way or another, they still manage to have proprietary stuff built in there that makes things a little complicated when doing Websites. And the only way to work around it is to either have a separate Windows machine or use virtualization software like Parallels, or in my case, VMWare Fusion to be able to use a different browser (Internet Explorer) on a different operating system.

I was surprised as to how simple the installation and setup was. The fact that my machine is pretty capable made things run smoothly, despite running Adium, iTunes, Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I could imagine how fast this app can go if I had even more RAM.

Browsers
I know that the latest beta of Firefox 3 has been out for quite a while now, but since I was checking out how my sites looked like on the beta version of Internet Explorer 8 looked like, might as well try it out as well. Since being exposed to Camino a while back, I find it hard to use any other browser, even Firefox. Except of course when I remember trying out the latest WebKit build.
