The plunge

After waiting a few days after the much-awaited OS X Leopard 10.5.3 update, I finally took the plunge and installed it myself. Learning from my previous mistakes however, I made sure that before I actually did any installing, I made backups of my most recent files. It has become a lot more easier now, I have organized my data better so that not a single file is missed.
I opted for the manual install version. That way, I don’t have to be in front of the computer when the system prompts me to install. That and it gives me the benefit of being able to install the update when I want. As an added bonus, if anyone I know asks, I can actually hand them a copy to save them the time of downloading it on their own.
Like all of the Apple apps I have previously installed, everything was a breeze. Unlike my previous experience with the dark side of computing, all the minor details (such as the colors of my stickies), were retained. Anyone who has actually used Windows know the pain of reinstall, and luckily this has yet to happen here.
There is a plethora of fixes, but what makes me happy is that they finally got to fix my issues with changing apps using Spaces.
I will give an update on how things are going in the weeks to come. We’ll see if everything is running as it should be. But for now, so far, so good. Cheers Apple!
