The third coming

Being on the internet most of the time, it didn’t take long before I was disillusioned with how Internet Explorer was working… which resulted to me opting for an alternative, a product known as Netscape. Time passed by, and although Netscape was still pretty much better than Internet Explorer, it became bigger and bigger, until eventually it was all just bloatware, and I decided to search somewhere else for my web browsing fix.
Enter Firefox, from the Mozilla, the original creators of the Netscape browser. It had very little footprint, yet it functioned pretty well. Depending on your connection and other factors, most websites display blazingly fast. And the addition of plugins made it even more usable. I myself at one point had about 15 plugins at one time, that is, until the nightmare that was Firefox 2.
Don’t get me wrong, Firefox 2 is still a pretty good browser, bust only slightly so. The main reason why people like me still use it is tha lack of support for web standards by Internet Explorer. For web designing, that just isn’t an option. But Firefox 2 bogged down my system so much, that I eventually had to go look for an alternative to my alternative… which I found in Camino, which coincidentally is from the same people who did the fox.
Camino is pretty streamlined, performing the way I want it to, except for one thing. There are a number of plugins that I got so used to in Firefox that are not in Camino. This makes my browsing somewhat incomplete. Safari may offer some other features, but it just isn’t the same.
The much anticipated Firefox 3 will hopefully quench my browser thirst. Sources say it is currently the fastest browser available (beta version) today. Only time can tell if this is truly so. You can get Release Candidate 3 right now, but the full version is slated to be released to the public on June 17th in the US.
In the meantime, you can help Mozilla break the record books by pledging to download Firefox 3 when it becomes available.
