Playful and talkative
Posted Jun 23rd, 2008 at 3:35AM CST under FamilyTags: Timothy

I remember the days when everyone was anxiously waiting as to when Timothy would utter his first word and what that would be, and as expected, he called out to his mom first. He did made a noise that kinda sounded like dad, but it was exactly just that… a noise.
Fast forward three years, and baby Timothy has grown to become a very active and fun loving little boy. He loves to draw, play games with both his parents and his friends. That, and of course watching his favorite movies and television shows. Add some book reading and catalogue viewing, and I am sure over time, Timothy will be well-exposed to the various media types out there. I am online most of the time, and he sees that, so the internet is no stranger to him either.
He is starting to venture out on his own too. Making sure to keep an eye out, just in case mom and dad starts getting away from his range of sight. As soon as we start walking away, we’re certain that he’s just a few steps behind.
When we’re with friends, he’s with his friends, and they do play with him too. Earlier I realized just how outgoing our son is. Most of the kids, even the older ones really do want to play with him. Even children whom I didn’t know converse with little Timothy on a regular basis… maybe our son can run for public office in the future?
I also mentioned that Tim is quite talkative now, but friends and relatives have experienced the rather shy side of our little Padawan. I have spoken to him about how family miss him a lot and how much they would like to speak to him over the phone or on Skype. He seems to understand what’s going on, and he has started to speak to everyone.
Kitchie and I are trying out how Timothy fares with other children when he doesn’t see us. So we tried leaving him on one of those secure playgrounds in certain areas. I have seen how much he has improved in terms of socializing. Tim goes to a playgroup every Sunday as well, and it seems that he has graduated from the creche, to the older children’s section. Teachers and guardians say he is faring pretty well too.
As parents, we’re elated to see how our son has grown. But this very same thing of seeing him grow up so fast makes us feel a bit sad… that we all really don’t have a lot of time to spend with our children. So let us all try and make the most out of it.
