More customizations

Since being able to activate the new blog theme, I really didn’t have much time to add anything else. I have been pretty busy uploading all our archived photos to Flickr, which is taking most of the computer’s idle time.
I have however been able to add some minor things lately, namely my online presence on other sites and an addition to the sidebar which is the games I play. Both of which make use of the Bookmarks feature of WordPress. To my surprise, not only does this new feature retrieve favicons from various sites, but normal images as well. People used to WordPress may have known this for quite a while, but since I just learned creating themes for it, it is pretty much new to me.
There are still quite a few things on my list that I haven’t implemented on the blog, which I will slowly do so once I get the time.
My apologies to those trying to make comments on the blog. For a while I thought it was some sort of browser / platform issue. As it turns out, my quest to rid the blog of spam is the culprit. WP-SpamFree seemed to do a good a job of doing it, until I realized that it prohibiting valid commenters to do their thing. I wonder if it has marked some real comments as spam too.
As a precaution, I reverted to my old style of spam blocking, and comments seem to go through as before. There still is a little bit of spam appearing on the comments list, but I guess that is always better than not seeing a valid comment.
