The time has come, and the iPhone 3G has finally landed. But as with my previous thoughts, despite the sorry state of my mobile phone, I will have to decline Apple’s latest offering.

Even so, all isn’t lost… for the Cupertino folks have also released other updates to their products, specifically iTunes 7.7 which now features the AppStore, MobileMe that replaced .Mac, and a slew of software updates that basically adds support for the aforementioned additions.

iTunes 7.7

Thew new update basically adds the AppStore functionality. Unfortunately, Software 2.0 is currently unavailable for the iPod Touch. However, with the new version of iTunes, you can already download free or purchase applications available on the store. There are a number of apps that caught my interest such as Evernote, Paypal and To Do [all iTunes links] which are all free by the way.

But due to the inability of the iPhone update, there is really no way of actually testing them as of now. I have however downloaded them so that as soon as it does becomes available, searching for them will no longer be an issue.

More stuff to come as soon as I get my hands on these.
