Starbucks leaving Adelaide

This coming weekend will definitely bring forth a change in not only myself, but a lot of coffee lovers here in Adelaide, as Starbucks will officially close its doors this Sunday.

I personally haven’t been in one of their stores in quite a while. In fact, before hearing of the news, Kitchie was telling me how she missed going there, and would want to go one of these days.

Starbucks coffee is a pretty expensive habit. But despite being so, back in the Philippines, we have in fact gone more times than here in Australia. There is just something about hanging out with friends and colleagues in one of their many stores, kicking back and relaxing.

The news about the company shifting its marketing strategy and concentrating on coffee-making machinery will give hope to coffee aficionados, although its availability here in Australia seems bleak.

My family and I will definitely drop by on the weekend to bid farewell to this modern icon, and maybe grab ourselves a couple of drinks and some souvenirs. I hope we can still get some when we’re there.
