I turn a year older today, and what better to celebrate than with family. I’ve got Kitchie and Tim by my side, and my brother has come to join us for a couple of weeks. Its just too bad that mom is in the Philippines. It would’ve been even better if she was here to celebrate with us.
As we were waiting for Jon’s flight to arrive, we spent a couple of hours at IKEA. We left Timothy in a supervised play area which he has grown accustomed to, while Kitchie and I look around to see what’s new. After which we just went to pick Tim up and have some lunch.
We made it just in time to the airport as Jon as surprised that we could actually meet him as he made his first steps in the Adelaide airport. Our little padawan ran towards his uncle and gave him a big hug, but became a bit shy as Jon was speaking to him. I told Jon however that it wouldn’t take long until Tim would be used to his presence.
True to form, by the time we made it to the asian grocery at Henley Beach Rd., all Tim wanted to do was walk with his beloved uncle. It’s good to see the little boy show love and affection towards family he hasn’t seen in a while. He’s just such a champ.
We had a bit of a rest afterward, then my little brother said he would take my family and I out for dinner as our celebration. We just had to bring him to Fasta Pasta… being a pasta lover such as myself, we were certain he would enjoy the food as we did. The place was packed! Luckily, there was an available table for four and we were seated comfortably. After dinner, Timothy and Jon had some dessert and we headed back home.
Kitchie made a phone call to the Philippines so that we could speak to our mom… we hope that next time she can come and visit us too.
My birthday has finally passed as I am finishing this entry. But the 7th will be another day for me as Australia celebrates Father’s day. This will certainly be a great weekend.
