Stella Artois

A little over two years ago, when the Natividads helped us to settle here in Adelaide, they also showed me how to enjoy the different kinds of beer available here in Australia. When we went to celebrate the holidays with them last year, being able to try the number of great international brews was the thing.

With my brother’s visit a couple of months back, I realized that in some way, I have been missing out on the good stuff. I don’t really drink that much, but occasional and moderate drinking, as well as being able to expose myself to great products by various countries is not bad either.

And, with the holidays drawing near, I finally decided to go out and get some brew. We went to the local Dan Murphy’s, initially wanting to purchase the 10-bottle best of international beer. The price was too steep for 10 bottles. After walking around a bit, I stumbled upon cases and cases of Stella Artois. For a mere $10 more, I could get 14 more bottles. Since I’ve basically tried 7 out of the 10 offered, I decided to go for the Stella.

I somehow feel bad that I didn’t get to bring Jon to Dan Murphy’s so he could see the large selection of beer, wine and spirits. It would have definitely been an experience for both of us. All is not lost, there is always next time.

So… it looks like we will be having a Filipino-Aussie hybrid Christmas celebration this year. We will have the grill out, enjoy a couple of beers and everything else that Kitchie will be serving up.
