Game over – Metal Gear Solid 4

Its been years since I have actually been able to get my hands on a Metal Gear Solid title. Its even longer since I last posted an entry about actually completing a game, which was then, on a totally separate blog altogether.
The last Metal Gear title on the PS2 was great, but I actually didn’t have enough time on my hands to even get through one mission. For the uninitiated, this is because we had to get ourselves ready to head on over to the land down under.
The reviews about the game are all true. The game is just spectacular, true to its Kojima origin. From the intro movie all the way to its quite lengthy ending, I can say that it is certainly well worth it.
Some people say that the length of time some sequences take might be a tad too much. It may be true in some cases. For me, I was actually in the verge of nodding off when I came upon the last scene, and I had to wait until everything was over to make sure that I did not miss anything.
I however, am nowhere close to actually achieving all the goals in the game. There are quite a few things that I would like to do again. Also, when I came across this article on the interwebs, I realized that I have been missing out. I have taken some photos of scenes and adversaries, but I was not aware of what you can do as stated on the above mentioned article. I however got some really good photos by accident, after obtaining the camera in-game during act 4.
Apart from Apple hardware product placements (iPod, Mac Pro and Macbook Pro), the availability of downloadable content for use on Snake’s iPod (music and podcasts) as well as custom camo does make for a high replay value.
I did find however, that after playing the game for some time, I did tend to feel a bit dizzy. It is all my fault though. I should haveve listened to the game’s advice when it said to take a rest after very hour of playing.
