Sydney Fireworks

As Australia welcomes 2009, I was pondering about how the entire world will tackle the new year, especially with the financial crisis still looming in the air.

There didn’t seem to be as much flair in terms of fireworks this year… a sign that governments around the world are weary about having to do unnecessary splurging, even if it is for the new year celebrations.

As for us, we were spending the last few minutes of 2008 together, just watching television and cuddling with each other… something that I really recommend regardless of anyone’s financial state. Plus it really makes me feel that we spent the time wisely. Timothy will be starting actual school this month, and it will mean that we will get to see less and less of each other as time passes.

But enough of that talk. Let’s all celebrate the coming of the new year, and hope that this one will be more productive and prosperous for everyone around the globe. Happy new year!
