Windows 7

Microsoft indeed has a lot going for it in the upcoming Windows 7 operating System. I have been hearing a lot of praises on the net and I decided to try it out myself.
Installation was a breeze. Not like how Microsoft used to do it in the days of Windows old. There wasn’t a lot of options to have me bogged down in front of the computer either. After using Boot Camp, popped the disc in, followed instructions and voila!
All is not well though as one of the first things I did was post this entry, and it actually took me about 3 trials before I could get the Edit Post page up on WordPress. For some reason, IE8 is having difficulties with WordPress 2.7.1. This is after all just a release candidate and some issues hopefully will be resolved once the retail version is out.
Another things about IE, the search engine used by default is Bing? Now that’s going to be another problem for the Redmond giant. I mean, they didn’t even put Google in as an alternative!
Yes, you can most certainly go and add Google and even make it your default, but there is just something to Microsoft not giving us options off of the basic install.
Except in the workplace, I actually no longer use Internet Explorer for reasons that seem to be well and beyond Microsoft’s capability in fixing it. So, as with any other computer user would do, I have gone ahead and downloaded the most recent version of Firefox.
I have barely gone through this new operating system so I can’t do a full review. The problems stated above are just those I have encountered in the past 30 minutes after installation.
So far, Windows 7 does look pretty good and if things go well, it may actually get rid of the problems the majority of computer users have to put up each and every day of their computing lives.
