True homage

From silent takedowns to gliding kicks, the Batman: Arkham Asylum demo unleashed to the public over the weekend has shown that given enough thought, game developers of today can definitely create something worthy of our time.
Its amazing how there has actually never been a superhero-based game that caught anyone’s attention quite like this one. Yes, there have previously been Superman games, and heck, there was just that God awful Iron Man game that I made the mistake of downloading the demo of.
In fairness, there is Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 coming soon to eat away our waking hours outside of work, but these 2 games are about groups of superheroes.
Just how good is the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum game? Well, I don’t know about anyone else but, for me, after downloading the demo over PSN, I probably played it a total of about 20 times already. And until the retail version hits shelves on the 3rd of next month, that number will just go up.
So if you got a PS3, XBox 360 or even a PC, you might want to save up your pennies for this one.
