Timothy's longing

It has only been a little over a day since Kitchie left for the Philippines. Timothy and I are doing fine despite the fact that we do miss her a lot, and Timothy, every so often, would ask for his mom and starts crying when he is told he has to wait a bit longer.
This is the first time that Kitchie and Tim are away from each other. And despite all my attempts in taking his mind away from the fact, he would still talk about how he misses his mom.
It was good that we were able to see and speak with Kitchie this afternoon over Skype. It was a nice surprise that both my mom and brother are there to pay their last respects to Tatay too. After all that has happened with Ondoy, it is great to be able to see and talk to them too.
With Kitchie’s help in pretty much ensuring that I wouldn’t have to do much during the mornings that she isn’t here, our first day without her has been ok. I compensated for the loss of manpower by pretty much preparing everything we need to do or bring the night before, in the hope that I do not lose too much time in case I need to do some other things in the morning.
Timothy has been nothing but helpful. Making sure that he does what he is told, and helping in his own little way to ensure that his old man won’t be running late for work.
There is still a long way to go before Timothy and I take the trip to the airport to pick up Kitchie. The 6 remaining days will definitely take forever for us, but as long as we have Skype, then the wait will not be as hard on all of us.
