Strawberry picking at Hahndorf

Planned in advance, our strawberry picking trip to Hahndorf was quite an experience for the whole family. We have never been to the place, and what best time to go than with Powee.
With our trusty gear and some food and drinks in tow, we went to the small German town of Hahndorf… a first for all three adults. What about Timothy you ask? Well, Mr. Strong (check his shirt) has already been to the Hahndorf Farm Barn on a field trip so, he was the veteran of the group.
Once we got there, we all decided to just walk around a bit, to find ourselves a quaint place to have lunch in before we head on the the strawberry farm. We found a place called the “Caffe Assiette“. The servings were plentiful and the food was just great! We will definitely head over to the place on one of our next trips.
With our lunch taken cared of, we proceeded with walking the rest of the main road. We found a lot of interesting things during that short time. From various chocolatiers, puppet shops, heaps of metal sculptures and this really cool candle shop that has both handmade candles and candle holders! It was just too bad cameras were not allowed, I would have wanted to share with everyone all the little pieces of artwork that they had on display and for sale.
When we got to Beerenberg Farm, we only had a little over an hour to do our strawberry picking. This was definitely time well spent. Tim, Kitchie and Powee went about picking the largest and reddest they could find while I go about taking their photos. I did pick a few of them so I did not miss out on the experience.
This was by far the farthest we’ve gone by ourselves, and what a wonderful experience it was!
