Game over – Dragon Age: Origins

Years has passed since I last delved into the realm of any role-playing game. Dragon Age: Origins has not only won both the RPG and PC game of the year, but also the imaginations of gamers worldwide… including this one.
I shouldn’t actually say game over. As soon as I finished my human noble character including all the available DLCs, I immediately went on to try my luck with a new character… a female Dalish rogue that has just recently become a ranger with either a summoned wolf or bear as a companion on top of the 3 that is given to you.
The complexity of the game and the many choices you can make that can affect the way you play through it is just astounding. My experience using the human noble compared to the Dalish elf although headed towards the same goal, is totally different. Some of my decisions in developing this new character has opened doors to some quests that my previous one did not have. Mistakes that I could not track back to because of my eagerness to push through the game I can now analyze and act on properly.
I am eagerly waiting for the release of the Return to Ostagar DLC and of course the recently announced Awakening expansion. Its a good thing a friend and fellow DAO gamer has advised me to do multiple saves despite our difference in platforms. This way, I can go back and use my previous character to do the extra quests one these 2 have finally arrived.
So yes, I have lost quite a bit of sleep over DAO as well as some of my free time. This was why I have barely updated the blog or even my Twitter account for that matter. And it seems that there are some ways to go before I actually get away from this epic fantasy before I head on over to a new one.
