Tim celebrates his fifth year today. While Kitchie and I look in awe as we see how much he has grown both physically and mentally. Our little Padawan is definitely doing well. In fact, he has grown up to the point that I am now struggling to carry him. He has not outgrown his wanting us to carry him nor would we want to just yet.

Schooling

Tim seems to be adjusting to his new school pretty well. He has already gone on his first school excursion under the supervision of older school kids or, their “Buddies” as well as certain teachers and parents.

He is also very eager to read up on his homework and proudly shows us projects that he has made while in school.

I have observed him on several occasions without actually being seen, and I was actually surprised as to how good he interacts with the older children. Kudos to the kids for being very friendly with Timothy, but being able to approach bigger kids in a place that is new to him is a feat on its own… and Timothy seems to just do it without so much of a fuss.

The Padawan

Taking a page from his old man’s childhood, little Timothy has definitely acquired the Star Wars bug. In fact, I kind of have this inkling that he has already surpassed me in terms of being a fanboy. Going to the mall on his birthday, we asked what he would like as one of his presents. At first he was looking towards a Ben 10 toy or something else. But seeing the latest action figures based on his favorite cartoon, Star Wars Clone Wars, he decided that he wanted those… Commander Cody and Captain Rex. For the uninitiated, these are the two main clone characters seen on the series. Of course it would not be the same if the clones did not have an opponent so we got him one of those Droidekas as well.

The Excitement

There are a couple of things that I am excited about. First, it is literally less than a couple of weeks away before we can get to see family and friends again. I am sure that everyone back home is equally as excited (or maybe even more for some).

Timothy has been very eager… asking questions about the Philippines, the trip and the things he can see and do there.

And on a different note, I have been working on this blog’s redesign and I intended this entry to be posted after the launch of the new look. There was a bit of hesitation on whether I should still post it with the old theme still on, but I realized that it might actually take a little bit longer before I can make use the new theme so, here it is.

Itineraries and e-tickets are now at hand, and we are pretty much just waiting for the day to come. So, to friends and family in the Philippines, we will see you soon!
