Today was a milestone for my family and I, as we watched our first movie since coming to Australia… and our very first drive-in movie ever!
With the previous release of the computer-generated animation Star Wars Clone Wars, and the consequent airing of its television series, it seems that our little Timothy has been exposed to a little bit of geekdom by actually watching them every day.
Timothy has developed a fascination with zoo animals after watching Madagascar on video. Just like past movies that he has come to appreciate, our little son has managed to memorize certain scenes and dialogues.
Long before fate dealt me a hand of cards that made most of my time anything other than my own, I was once an avid movie viewer. However, I did not watch every movie that came along my way.
It all started with little Timothy imitating Shrek’s roar. The ogre’s roar turned into a dinosaur’s when we got hold of “The Land Before Time” dvd from the library, and he was fascinated with them since.
When we bought Timothy a dvd of the first Shrek movie, it was quite evident that he was the least bit interested. Back then, it was all about the Pixar movies…
Star Wars Revenge of the Sith is nearing its playdate, and that’s got a lot of people (including yours truly of course), excited. I’ve seen the full-length trailer several times, and I just can’t wait for the movie!
